Easy maple salad dressing recipe

Easy Maple Salad Dressing

Salad dressing is a great way to add flavor to salad greens and can also be used as a marinade for meat or poultry. There are many different types of salad dressings, such as vinaigrette, ranch, blue cheese and more, but an easy salad dressing recipe that compliments many different salads is a simple one: maple salad dressing.

Adding maple syrup to a salad dressing recipe instead of sugar does a few things. First, it eliminates processed foods from your healthy recipes, and secondly, you don't have to worry about sugar granules in your smooth and creamy dressings. Maple syrup blends beautifully with these ingredients to give you a perfectly consistent salad dressing.

This easy salad dressing recipe uses maple syrup as a natural sweetener and Dijon mustard to balance it. To give it a tart kick that is synonymous with salads, we add in some balsamic vinegar or lemon juice.

This salad dressing can be made ahead of time and kept in your fridge and goes well with any romaine, loose leaf or spinach salad, cobb salad, garden salad, cucumber salad and more. It creates a beautiful balance of flavours by incorporating the maple syrup as a sweetener, so it won't be super sweet but more earthy with deeper notes of perfectly well-balanced flavours.

Here is our easy salad maple salad dressing recipe.

Maple Salad Dressing

This recipe will make enough for a small salad (2-4 people)

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (balsamic, red wine or white) or lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Maple Roch pure maple syrup
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine all ingredients except for the oil.
  2. Whisk together until fully incorporated.
  3. Add the olive and whisk again to incorporate.
  4. Keep your salad dressing in a salad dressing jar or a mason jar in the fridge until you are ready to use it. Take it out about 15 minutes before adding it to the salad of your choice.

Keep in mind that this is a homemade dressing and the oil may float to the top and separate, which is perfectly normal. Simply close the lid of your salad dressing jar and shake before using, or give it a quick whisk.

That's it! It is that easy to make a delicious salad dressing with healthy ingredients. Once you try this easy salad dressing recipe once, you will be making it all the time. You can make variations of it by adding ingredients such as fresh herbs, garlic, chives, parmesan cheese and more. The fun is experimenting to see what you really like! And if you make extra, try marinading your chicken or pork in it, you won't believe the flavour it creates.
