Maple Hot Chocolate

Ingredients: for each person, you will need:

  • 1 cup (250 ml) milk of your choice: almond milk, soy milk, whole or skim milk. You can also use a combination of milk and heavy cream for a smooth, rich taste.
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons of Maple Roch pure, organic maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in a sauce pan and whisk together.
  2. Heat over medium heat stirring frequently until milk scalds, and this is just the point before the milk boils. You will see it steaming but not yet boiling.
  3. Remove it from the heat and carefully pour into mugs.

Additions:

You can make these maple hot chocolates really special by adding whipped maple cream to them! Make maple whipped cream by whipping 1/2 a cup of heavy cream (around 35%) with 1 tablespoon Maple Roch organic maple syrup.

Add your whipped cream on top of your maple hot chocolate and you can even drizzle a bit of maple syrup right on top for a really fancy treat.

If you’ve ever wanted to make hot chocolate without adding processed ingredients like powdered milk or sugar, this recipe is for you. Maple Roch's pure, organic maple syrup offers a natural sweetness and all-natural flavor that can be added in place of other sweeteners. This makes it the perfect addition to your favorite winter drink!

The best part about maple syrup? It contains more antioxidants than any other kind of cane sugar or honey. So don't forget to try our organic maple syrup when making your next batch of homemade hot cocoa; we're sure you won't regret it!
